When paying more is a better deal

Sometimes paying more is actually the cheaper option.

I was reminded of that recently at the gym.

‍

The manager encouraged me to sign up for their monthly plan because it would cost less.

‍

Totally fair, she was trying to help. But I told her I’d rather pay for two individual months, even if it cost more.

‍

She couldn’t understand why.

“𝘑𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘦 when you need to cancel your subscription. 𝘐’𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥.”

But that was the real problem.
So I told her honestly:

“𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶. 𝘐 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦.”

Every time I’ve tried to cancel or freeze my membership in the past, it turned into a mess.

‍

I’d be told it was handled.

To then find out it wasnt.

‍

​​I’d talk to three or four different people.

Yet, nothing happening...

‍

I’d have to follow up again and again.
All that energy, just to save $60 or $80?

‍

No thanks.

‍

The truth is, I’m not paying extra for the membership. 

I’m paying for peace of mind.

‍

For the freedom to not think about it.

For the simplicity of being done.

‍
