Is following your passion the right thing to do?

Why following your passion might be leading you down the wrong path.

As founders, we're told to follow our passion. 

But is that always the best advice? 

‍

There is no universal answer.

‍

Like every important personal matter, the answer is it depends.

- it depends on your industry

- it depends on your personality

- it depends on your stage in life

- it depends on the value you add

‍

I dedicated 6 years to my startup. 

I believed in the power of persistence. 

I pushed because I knew it was important to commit.

‍

However, effort alone isn't enough. 

I had to take a step back and ask myself: Am I in the right lane?

‍

Losing your purpose can happen faster than you are able to perceive, and you can end up on the wrong side.

‍

So, I would say. Don’t follow your passion. 

Follow what takes you close to your most important values - growth, service, freedom, etc.
