I don’t want to see the parking spot
I don’t want to see the parking spot.
Although the real estate saleswoman insisted.
When I first entered the apartment where I live now, it was a total mess.
Alcohol bottles on the bathroom floor.
Shoes on the kitchen counter.
But I couldn’t care less.
I also didn’t care about the parking spot.
(although I had a car)
And here’s why:
The apartment had all the 4 key features I wanted.
I liked the size/distribution.
I liked the floor/views.
I liked the location.
I liked the building.
Yes, it was 15% over my initial budget but after having a reference for the housing market it was a no-brainer.
This was all that was important to me.
Everything else was unnecessary details.
And it’s the same in other areas of life.
Everything else fades away when the key elements you care about are met.
We often ask for more and more information.
But have you asked yourself why?
Maybe we are not convinced of the key elements.
PS: More information doesn’t alway equal better decisions because you will more likely misjudge the importance of each factor.
