Heroes vs. Quitters

We often see the heroes of the story.

We rarely see the quitters.

‍

Yet, sometimes knowing when to pull back is the smartest move you can make.

‍

While writing my book, I listened to Annie Duke and Maya Shankar discuss about Rob Hall on Maya’s podcast, A Slight Change of Plans.

‍

Rob was an incredible alpinist who broke all the turnaround times on Everest and paid the ultimate price with his life.

‍

Meanwhile, those who made safe, smart decisions came back home but went almost unnoticed.
‍

This got me thinking.

‍

Shouldn’t making the right call, even if it means quitting, be celebrated too?
