A few days ago, during an event, I had a moment that stayed with me.

Someone told me his young daughter was  a nun.

At first, I felt sad for her. It seemed to me she was mistakenly opting out from the beauty, emotions, and experiences life has to offer.

I also felt bad for the parents projecting my fears sadness on them thinking they had lost a daughter. The father told me “at the beginning it was hard but now we see she is really happy”.

I sat with it and something else came up.
A part of me opened up and felt peace.

A sense of freedom on her behalf.

▶️Freedom from the pressure to achieve.
▶️Freedom from insecurities, drama, and fears.
▶️Freedom from the mindless and endless chasing.

And most important freedom from not having to do and deal with all the things one does that one does not want to.

This contrast has been sitting with me ever since.

The part of me that desires every single drop of juice of life, and the part of me that longs for simplicity, and release.
