Plushkies - mistakes before the launch - Part 2
Focus on these 4 things to avoid overexcitement over your startup idea. (it’s what I didn’t do)
A few days ago, I shared with you how I went from excitement to a reality check about my first company - Plushkies.
Today, I’m sharing 4 lessons from that experience.
1. Efficiency over speed.
We were all about "move fast and break things".
We embraced speed without a clear plan.
Start lean.
Have efficient operations first.
So you can scale more effectively later.
2. Know your customer.
We were very focused on the product itself.
We forgot the golden rule. Customer is the king.
Talk to your customers.
Understand what they want.
3. Validate your assumptions.
We built Plushkies based on our thoughts.
On what we thought customers wanted.
Not what they actually needed.
Iterate and adapt your product to their needs.
4. Find a business model that can scale
That’s what you need to scale.
Not the size of your operations.
Reflecting on our journey with Plushkies, I've realized the importance of learning from our experiences. And I am committed to sharing these bits and pieces with you on my blog and on LinkedIn.
