I attended the Multicoin Capital Summit
The Multicoin Capital Summit and Sigma Squared Society Conference are my two “can’t miss” events of the year.
I attended both last month.
Towards the end of 2017, my crypto holdings grew beyond my wildest dreams.
So, I decided to protect myself against myself.
That’s when my friend introduced me to Kyle and Tushar, founders of Multicoin Capital.
I will be forever grateful to him for that.
Investing in Multicoin is one of the top 3 investment decisions I’ve ever made.
These are 7 things Multicoin does to run one of the best-performing funds of all time:
- Understand crypto technology, the last 5% of it, where others won’t or can't go into it.
- Consider human psychology, how people/users think, and behave.
- Care about the real world. They sold a position in, according to their own words, “the best tech in crypto, second to none” because they were “not focused enough on commercialization.”
- Live in possibility, investing where the biggest and newest crypto-specific opportunities lie, such as capital formation.
- Being transparent and accessible. They were hardly hit by the FTX collapse and quickly put out a status report and a call for their LPs.
- Publish their thesis and thinking publicly, which has proven to be a powerful credibility and marketing tool, as well as a valuable resource for the community.
Invest boldly and with conviction, often taking contrarian positions that take years for others -and even the market- to come around to.
Above all, they know what they are good at and don’t find the need to win at -or get distracted seeking- other sources of alpha.
In the same fashion, they can appreciate the distillation of the Solana roadmap into four words, they can easily tell you what their own four words are -thesis formation, asset selection.
